Growing up in a city, I never thought about farming. Now I have a company that builds ecological farms. I also operate Cavaleiro Farm, where I plant thousands of trees and have a flock of sheep. Never could I have imagined!

I got here simply because I wanted to know where my food came from. Since becoming part of the local food culture, I'm healthier, I’ve met amazing people, and I have nice animals and plants all around me in my daily life. Now I want to help other communities build their own food system and make local farms productive again.

one class, endless benefits

  • Make going solar affordable: Go solar for hundreds of dollars instead of thousands, so you can get off the sideline and take charge of your energy future.

  • Triple your production: Get more out of your garden by bringing water to your plants.

  • Water long distance: Pump water over 1 kilometre with equipment that one person can carry and set up. No need to buy big hoses and pumps.

  • Set up faucets anywhere: Set up a tap to have water flowing from anywhere on your farm. Outdoor kitchen sink? Yes. Hose for a wash station? Yes. A hot shower to finish the day? Most definitely.

  • Make use of rainwater: Catch rainwater and have a working tap within two hours. Any roof can become a basecamp in less than a day.

  • Feed your animals: Automatically keep water filled for your animals, so you only have to check on it when you want to.

  • Move pond water: Transfer water from ponds to other parts of your farm where it's needed.

  • Protect your garden: Guard your vegetables, fruits, and flowers from pests 24/7. Even if it's cloudy or nighttime, a solar electric fence can work anywhere.

  • Get your farm easily started: A solar-powered electric fence is very portable, inexpensive, and easy to put up — great for when you're just starting out on your farm.

  • Save costs hiring help: You won't need to call an electrician to add a light in your barn or chicken coop. And as your needs change, you'll be able to change the lighting yourself without outside help.

  • Keep equipment operational: Keep your batteries charged and avoid expensive repair costs. A solar battery tender can keep all of your vehicle batteries fully charged, so that operating your equipment will work without reducing the life of your batteries.

  • Gain energy independence: Even if you already get power on your farm from the power company, reduce your dependency by getting your most important work done with solar energy.

  • Avoid paperwork: Small solar systems don't need approval or permitting. And they're easy to set up and configure to your needs. All great things for starting up a new farm or garden.

  • Have your e-bike ready to go: Working on a farm can put kilometres on your feet daily. Avoid the walking load on your feet by keeping your electric bike continuously charged using solar.

  • Work on your computer anywhere: Solar brings energy anywhere on your farm, so you can connect cheap computers and electronics anywhere to automate work or collect important data.

  • Never lose power: Bad weather takes out the grid? No problem. With small solar, you can get the vitals going on your farm or homestead right after the storm has cleared.

  • Engage the techy people in your life: Not everyone is interested in helping you out in the garden? Well, solar technology engages the techy people in your life with food and farming. A great way to create space for everyone in your community.

  • Learn valuable skills: With small DIY solar systems, you learn the basic building and electrical skills you need to keep your solar system going indefinitely and that you can use in other areas of your farm.

  • Make the change today: Start the transition from an oil economy to a solar economy. Small solar is an affordable investment that allows you to start the change you want to see in your life.
